The City warns of poor air quality in Oslo

Oslo City warns of high air pollution both Tuesday evening and Wednesday. People in risk groups are advised to stay away from densely trafficked areas in the city.

 

On Tuesday there was moderate to high pollution levels along major roads, and a high pollution level along densely trafficked roads, the municipality writes on its web pages.

The highest concentrations are expected during the rush hours and early evening both Tuesday and Wednesday. It is road dust and, in part, pollutants. In the evening, a moderate pollution level from dust is also expected in areas with wood burning heaters, such as Grünerløkka, Sagene, Torshov, Frogner and Majorstuen.

Wednesday is also reported moderate pollution levels along major roads, and moderate to high pollution levels along heavily trafficked roads, especially during rush hours.

Children with respiratory diseases such as asthma and bronchitis, as well as adults with severe cardiovascular or respiratory diseases should limit their outdoor activity and not stay in the most polluted areas.

According to luftkvalitet.info, there is also poor air quality in Bærum, Brumunddal, Elverum and Fredrikstad on Wednesday.
