The fire at Losby Manor in Lorenskog is extinguished. Three people were injured and 40 evacuated.

– The fire started in a room near a sauna. It does not burn anymore, but the smoke is a challenge.  All the three floors have been partly damaged by the smoke,  operations leader Peter Olausson in Eastern Police District said  to the news agency NTB Saturday afternoon.

Three people have been sent to Ahus with smoke damage.

At first 17 evacuees from the  the fire in the main building were reported, but police later changed the number to 40.

– What remains for us to do now is to take care of certain practicalties,  such as witness interviews and investigation on the cause of the fire, says Olausson.

The police efforts leader on the site, Ketil Lund, told the local newspaper Romerike Blad that the three injured people are employees of the hotel.

Losby Manor is a hotel and conference center adjacent to the main building, which is 150 years old. The hotel has 70 rooms.

The police were notified of the fire at 15.23 pm.
