A British think tank says it is considering going to court for a ruling on whether Britain could cut ties with the EU internal market with Brexit or not.

The EU-friendly think tank ‘British Influence’ believes that the UK , in line with Norway, can retain access to the single market after their EU withdrawal.

In a letter to Brexit minister David Davis the think tank writes that it wants to see a formal legal review of the case.
Referring to lawyers who believe that it does not automatically follow from an EU withdrawal that Britain goes out of the single market, the Think tank takes the view that Article 127 of the Agreement on the EU internal market must first be redeemed, and that this requires the approval of Parliament, reports BBC.

The British government is already fighting one battle in the courts on Brexit.

Earlier this month the High Court in London decided that there must be a vote in Parliament before Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon can be triggered.

The article begins the formal withdrawal process from the EU. The British Government has appealed to the Supreme Court, which will hear the case next week.
