Three men are in Sunnmøre District Court sentenced to prison for aggravated fraud of fish for 11.6 million kroner.
The alleged mastermind, a 49 years old from Ålesund, was sentenced to prison for five and a half years. A 50 years old from Ålesund and a 48 years old from Ellingsøy been sentenced respectively to three years and one and a half years in prison for this case.
The strictest verdict was in accordance with the prosecutor’s contention, while the other two verdicts were milder than the prosecutor’s claim, writes the newspaper Sunnmørsposten.
The case revolves around 109 shipments of fish from the main defendant firm Ålesund Seafood.
According to the indictment there has been some connection with the fish company Scanprod AS with the value of 11.6 million kroner.
The money was then transferred partly to a former employee of Scanprod – 48 years old who was accused of having stolen the fish but who was convicted of rough handling stolen goods. 50 years old was general manager of Ålesund Seafood.
