Two American soldiers injured in accident

Two American soldiers were injured when their vehicle was in an accident at Voll in Rennebu municipality in Trøndelag on Thursday evening.

 

The soldiers were sent to hospital with minor injuries,the press contact for the Trident Juncture military exercise told NTB news.

The accident happened at around 18.20 on Thursday night.

“We are working to investigate what happened and we will take the necessary steps to ensure a safe and professional operation of US military vehicles in Norway,” said press spokesman Adrian Rankine-Galloway in an announcement.

The vehicle weighed seven tonnes according to the press release.

Thursday’s accident comes a week after four other American soldiers were injured when several military vehicles collided between Røros and Tydal in Trøndelag.

Over 50,000 soldiers from 30 countries are participating in NATO’s major ‘Trident Juncture’ exercise in Norway.
