Two men charged with aggravated assault following a death on an island

Two men are charged with severe bodily harm after a third man was found dead on the island Ombo, north of Stavanger Sunday morning.

All three involved men are residents in Germany. The two accused are 58 years old. the victim is also in his 50s, said South West police  in a statement on Sunday morning.

The charges are of “gross bodily injury or complicity in this” suggests that police who believe the man had sustained serious and probably fatal injuries.

– Both administrators

The two accused are most likely together responsible – either by both exercising violence or that one exercising violence and the other did not intervene – police believe.

Police were alerted at 4am on Sunday morning that a man was found dead near a cottage on the island Ombo north of Rogaland.

There were health workers on site who assessed the death as suspicious and therefore decided to alert the police.

Unclear circumstances

The accused will be interrogated during Sunday. It is currently unclear how they felt about the indictment and who should be their defenders.

– Circumstances of the death is as of yet unclear, and police are still early in the investigation phase. Therefore, we have no more information at present, writes South West police in a statement.
