Two new el-Jaguars to drive Oslo politicians

Oslo municipality has leased two new electric Jaguar I-Pace HSE vehicles. The cars will be used by the city council and city police in the capital.

Previously, the Oslo City Council has been criticized for using the so-called “Raymobile,” a polluting Audi A8, which was used to drive city council leader, Raymond Johansen of Arbeiderpartiet (Ap) around the city. This time the municipality chose zero-emission cars.

“The technology in the market has evolved rapidly since the previous grant received by the City Council’s management service in spring 2015. We are pleased that now, electric cars have been launched on the market that meet our security requirements,” said Marit Jansen, City Council-Manager.

BC Norway AS has been awarded the leasing contract for the two cars for three years.

“This agreement is also considerably cheaper than the previous deal,” said Jansen.
