US Defense Secretary Ash Carter comes to Bodo next week. There, he will meet with Defense Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide.

Carter arrives Bodo Thursday on 8th September and will be there until the day after.
In addition to visiting the Defense in California, he will also have bilateral talks with Søreide.

The two will talk about the relationship between Norway and the United States and the security situation in areas adjacent to Norway.

– I’m looking forward to show Ash Carter a bit of Norway and the Defense. The US is our most important ally, and it is important for us to show Carter how Norway takes responsibility for security in our own neighborhood and that we are a trustworthy ally, says Søreide.

It is the first time in eleven years that an American defense minister will visit Norway.
