The 13 who died in the helicopter accident on the way home from work in the North Sea on April 29th were among our foremost, said Statoil CEO Eldar Sætre during a memorial service in Bergen.

Family, friends and colleagues gathered for a memorial in Håkonshallen Monday afternoon.
– We are here to remind and honor those who lost their lives in the helicopter crash on April 29th. The families who are with us today know that they are not alone. We are here to share the grief, to commemorate those we miss and to honor the work they did on behalf of an entire industry and an entire nation, said Sætre.

The Statoil manager stated that the victims in the crash were part of the modern pioneers in an industry where the values do not come by itself, but every day must be created by the people who keep your business going.

– The 13 were among our foremost. The loss is huge. Our gratitude is deep, said Sætre.
The Statoil manager also thanked rescuers and all others who have put up during a difficult time.
