A truck passed the customs at Svinesund  carrying 13,000 liters of alcohol and 60000 cigarettes.  The police have now taken over the case. The cargo is to be destroyed.

In the afternoon of May 16  the wagon train passed the customs station at Svinesund without declaring the cargo,  the Customs writes.
A patrol turned out, and searched the wagon train. Underneath a container with sacks of compost, they found 12,636 liters of beer, 374 liters of spirits and 60,000 cigarettes.
If the goods had been declared, the duty would have been at one million.
The driver, a Polish man in his 20s, had no driver’s license for trucks.
– The man has been handed over to the police, and can expect a prison sentence. The goods have been seized and destroyed,  department head at Customs, Wenche Fredriksen, says to the news agency NTB.
