Justice and Emergency Minister Tor Mikkel Wara (Frp) allows temporary armed forces in Oslo to limit and prevent terrorist attacks.

Wara explained when he made a statement to Parliament towards the end of the parliamentary meeting Thursday evening.

Wara spoke of the terrorist attacks in European cities in recent years, where armed police have limited the amount of damage and stopped the attacks.

The temporary armed force shall initially apply for three months.

Wara pointed to the threat assessment by the Police Security Service (PST), which points out some areas in central parts of Oslo’s city center with a high density of symbolic buildings and important social functions take place where there is often a large accumulation of people.
