Warmest Norwegian May ever recorded at over 70 measurement stations

A new record was set for the maximum temperature for May at 73 measuring stations, the Meteorological Institute reported. This made 2018 the warmest May ever recorded.

 

The monthly temperature for Norway as a whole was 4.2 degrees above the norm for May, show the measurements that have taken place since 1900.
At Blindern in Oslo, the monthly temperature was 16.1 degrees,the highest ever measured at this weather station in May.

Earlier this month, 32.7 degrees was measured in Etne in Hordaland.This is the temperature record for Norway in May.

There were also some other weather records set last month. In Sortland in Nordland, rain records were set on May 21 (with 29.5 millimeters).
