The Meteorological Institute warns of powerful gusts of wind in western Norway on Saturday and Sunday. In the eastern and northern parts of Norway is the weekend is expected to get windy as well .

In Western Norway, Rogaland og Romsdal, gusts of wind between 25 and 30 meters per second is expected onSaturday.
– This doesn’t neccessarily mean that there will be powerful gusts of wind all the time, but there may be periods of time when the winds will be that strong. In addition, you will get a little rain eventually, meteorologist on duty Berit Hagen at the Meteorological Institute said to the news agency NTB.
– We are sending  an OBS forecast, especially because it’s Easter and we know that there are a lot of people in the mountains, she says.
Meteorologist Siri Wiberg Horjen in Oslo says that  a lot of wind is  expected in the mountains  in eastern Norway, including Telemark and Agder as well .
– It will be windy in the mountains, with a southerly gale and periodically storm from the afternoon. The coast will for the most part experience a strong breeze, and at night this becomes a near gale west of Oksøy, she says.
However, only in the west there is any need for sending a OBS forecast, according to Hagen.
In northern Norway “the main theme” will be wind from the south and mild weather on Easter Saturday, meteorologist on duty  Gunnar Noer at the Meteorological Institute in Tromsø said.
– On Saturday there will be strong breeze in exposed areas. There won’t be  much precipitation, but Nordland may get some rain, and Saltfjellet may get some snow, he said.
