A Syrian woman and her two daughters have been found dead in a freezer in Aabenraa, Denmark.

Police believe that the 27-year-old woman and two girls (seven and nine years old) had been killed. The bodies were discovered on Sunday. A male relative of the woman alerted the police after failing to make contact with her for a few days.

The woman’s husband, the father of the girls, is wanted by police for questioning. Police have begun technical investigations; questioning neighbors and people who may know the family.

The woman, her husband and two daughters came to Denmark last summer. They had refugee status, writes the news agency Ritzau.
