A 42 year old woman has to meet in Oslo District Court on Wednesday on charges of attempted murder on a police officer in Oslo just before Christmas in 2014.
According to the indictment the woman repeatedly hit the policeman in the head with a meat cleaver. The officer wore a lightweight helmet, which may have saved his life. The attacks of the woman caused two cuts in the helmet, according to the indictment.
The woman was, according to the indictment, psychotic during the murder attempt, and she is currently admitted to a psychiatric hospital. The prosecutor will recommend a transfer her to compulsory mental health care for the woman.
Oslo District Court has set aside two days for the proceedings.
