125 million people in the world need help, says UN, as they call together the world’s first humanitarian summit.

“Climate change, inequality, conflict, and poverty put more and more at risk and threaten to overwhelm the world’s humanitarian system,” said UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Monday and Tuesday, he called together the world’s first humanitarian summit with around 5,000 participants in Turkish Istanbul.
“The humanitarian summit is very important. It will be the first of its kind,” said Foreign Minister Brende leading the Norwegian delegation at the meeting.
“We see that the humanitarian needs in the world are enormous. We know for example, that there are 60 million refugees in the world,” he said to news agency NTB.
