Two weeks before the biathlon( a  winter sport combining cross-country skiing and rifle shooting) World Cup starts in Holmenkollen, the organizers have sold 100,000 tickets.

The organizer has a stated goal of 125,000 paying spectators during the days of the championship .
– We are nearing the goal, and know from experience that the  biggest rush for tickets will be in the last couple of weeks. There are still tickets available and we expect a big push  in the weeks heading into the World Cup,  managing director of championships, Per Bergerud, says.
The  World Cup starts with the opening ceremony on March 2, and the competition will, with the exception of a few “breather” days, take place from the 3 to 13 March. Overall there will be eleven exercises in eight competition days.
