Cecilia Brækhus won the World Cup match against Anne Sophie Mathis in Oslo Spektrum on a technical knockout in the 2nd round.

Brækhus had a good start in the first round and won the round on points and just 1:05 minutes into the 2nd round came a series of punches that lowered Mathis completely.

Brækhus had already gave Mathis a cut over her eye earlier in the round.

The match was called “The Homecoming” and was the first professional meeting in Norway since the ban from 1981 was repealed.

Brækhus received belts in five federations, the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF and IBOF in welterweight class.

Mathis has not been in a match in one and a half years before she came to Norway and fought, this was clearly viable.

The last time these fighters met the match happened in Frederikshavn, Denmark. That time Brækhus won by way of points.
