Rio de Janeiro: The Norwegian handball girls are one stage closer to Olympic gold triple by 28-19 over Montenegro. Kari Aalvik Grimsbø held Friday closed on its way to the quarterfinals.

The promotion was secured for a new clear victory. Goalkeeper Grimsbø proofed that it can only be called best on the world.

Short in 2nd half she stood with a save percentage of over 60% and kept is on the same level till the end of the game.

With such a goalkeeper it would hard to lose even against competent opposition.

Advanteges:

After Friday’s victory can Norway become everything from number one to three in the group. As it has turned out so far in tournament it will probably be an advantage not to meet the host nation Brazil before any final.

The advantages for Norway will be if Brazilians joins the top two in the pool with a draw or better against Romania on Sunday and it that way at least Norwegian will secure the second place.
It seems unlikely for Brazilians to misplace points against jumbo Montenegro on same day.
