Johnsen gives Norway 1-1 against Slovenia for continued leadership in the national league

Norway was heading for a new undeserved loss for the national team, but Bjørn Maars Johnsen’s goal in the 85th minute gave them a 1-1 draw against Slovenia on Friday.

As the final whistle was close to blowing, the Norwegian American showed his stamina and beat both defenders and the goal keeper in the air on Håvard Nordtveit’s post. Thus, Lars Lagerbäck was paid back richly for implementing plans B and C with increasing risk in the search for compensation.

Now Lagerbäck’s team is still fierce in front of their match with Bulgaria, which is on the pitch at 1-1 in Cyprus, and thus the fight for group victory is full-on. On Monday, Norway plays Cyprus, a nation Norway has beaten ten times in as many attempts. Bulgaria welcomed the score against Slovenia, who have already gone down.
