Norwegians will spend less money in the summer holidays

Norwegians plan to spend 20,175 million on summer holidays this year. This is a decrease of 15 percent from last year’s holiday budget of 23 204 kroner.

Elin Reitan in bank Nordea, which has received the survey conducted by TNS Gallup, says figures indicate that the decline in the oil sector has begun to affect people’s consumption.
– Despite the fact that we Norwegians prioritize holiday high, cut holiday budget quite significantly this year.This means that people have started to spend less on consumption.

According to the survey are planning more and more Norwegians to vacation in their homeland. Only 9 percent of Norwegians are planning to spend most of the summer holiday abroad this year. Last year, the share was 15 percent.

45 percent say they will spend most of the holiday in Norway, while 42 percent are planning a combination of domestic and international holiday. 3 percent were still undecided when asked in late April.
