The airline Ryanair will charge a fee for “large” hand luggage that is not suitable for the airline in November.

Ryanair will have changed the rules by January, so only passengers who have purchased so-called “Priority Boarding” may bring their hand luggage on board the cabin. However, formerly if you did not pay, you could get the hand luggage in the cargo for free.

Now, the company will remove this free option and will charge a fee of between eight and ten euros, i.e. between 78 and 97 kroner, from the 1st of November to bring it into the cargo area reported Nettavisen newspaper.

Previously travellers had been able to bring hand luggage up to ten kilos and with a maximum size of up to 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm without paying.

The new rules allow you to bring free of charge only baggage that can fit under the seat, ie 35 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm.

According to Ryanair, the goal is to get fewer delays and increase the speed of boarding.
