On Monday a number of business leaders delivered  a formalized and written promise  to fight for a greener and more just world to Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

Solberg received the written promise since she is one of the leaders of a  group that is to work at ensuring that the 17 new  sustainable development objectives of the United Nations  are achieved. The overarching goal is to eradicate extreme poverty in a way that is consistent with environmental and climate considerations.
–  In order for us to achieve new UN objectives, the contribution of the industry is essential. If we are to eradicate poverty, while ensuring climate change, the public and private field have to work together,  Solberg said at the conference Business for Peace in Oslo on Monday.
She noted that the private sector accounts for 60 percent of the gross domestic product of the world and 90 percent of job creation worldwide.
Business executives in companies that together employ over 1.5 million people and have a turnover of almost 4,500 billion, will attend the conference Monday and Tuesday.
The  industry will also play an important part in the efforts to follow up the Paris agreement to limit global warming.
