The Norwegian cheese society trying to host the World championship of cheese in Norway this year.

Norwegian Tingvollost won last week the title of World Champion for its blue cheese Kraftkar.

The Norwegian cheese society try now to get the world championship for cheeses in Bergen, wrote the newspaper Nationen.

Monday there has been a meeting with Agriculture and Food department to achieve cooperation before they want to apply.

– The Ministry is in favor of the project, says Bernt Bucher-Johannessen.

He is general manager of the Hanen, which is the national trade organization for businesses in rural tourism, farm fare and freshwater fishing.

– World Cheese Awards is not just a small event, with over 3,000 cheeses producers and hundreds of judges must be a lot of things to plan

It will probably not be in 2017, but perhaps in 2018, if all goes well, says Bucher-Johannessen.
