Oslo third on cultural barometer

Cultural facility satisfaction is high in Oslo

Only in Vienna and Helsinki is satisfaction higher than Oslo, when citizens in European capitals were asked how satisfied they are with the city’s cultural facilities.

In Oslo, 92 percent of respondents said that they are quite or very satisfied with cultural facilities such as concert halls, theaters, museums and libraries in their hometown.

The Austrian capital city Vienna has the best result according to the EU’s statistical agency Eurostat. 97 percent said they are satisfied. Finland’s capital Helsinki folllowed in second place with 94 percent.

Eurostat has also included some cities that are not capital cities. Among those in the list are Zurich, Leipzig, Graz and Malmo who scored better than Oslo.

The worst situation is at Valletta in Malta. There are only 34 percent of respondents who aresatisfied with cultural activities.
