Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit planted a tree outside the Ibsen house and met both the youngest and oldest citizens in Grimstad when they took part in the celebration of the city’s 200th anniversary.

In  a glorious summer sun the Crown Prince and Princess Tours got a guided tour at numerous locations in a matter of hours on Monday.
Their first stop was at the University of Agder, where modern welfare technology was demonstrated. During the day they  also visited the Maritime Museum in the city and the Ibsen house.
Henrik Ibsen was a pharmacy apprentice in the southern town and wrote his first play here. The Ibsen house  has just reopened after restoration and celebrates its 100 years anniversary this year .The Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon planted a magnolia tree in the garden of the museum during their visit.
The royals met both kindergarten children and 102-year-old Margretha Gurebo on their Grimstad visit.
– It was really special. They are like ordinary people. Yes, this was a great experience,  the 102-year-old says to Agderposten after the Royal meeting.
The Crown Prince couple also took part in the unveiling of the artwork “Rutan” a 3 by 3 meters large space that will be a kind of free zone at the market place of the city
