The Twist is the name of the new gallery at Kistefos, a museum approximately 90 minutes from Oslo. Kistefos is known for its large sculpture park and exhibition halls in old factory buildings. With The Twist, the museum gets a new, spectacular venue for contemporary art.
The Twist was designed by Danish architects BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group. Already in the months leading up to the opening, the project gained a lot of international attention, with articles in the UK’s The Telegraph and an inclusion in Bloomberg’s list of the nine most exciting buildings to open this year. Additionally, The Twist has been featured in design and architecture magazines like Wallpaper and arch daily.
