The world’s most expensive coin – a silver dollar from 1794 –  is on display in Oslo this week.

The coin was sold to its current owner for a little over $ 10 million at an auction in New York in January 2013. This corresponds to NOK 55.7 million in the rates for 2013 .
“Flowing Hair” as the coin is called, is considered to be the very first dollar coin. 1758 copies of the coin were produced in Philadelphia in 1794. The name comes from the Statue of Liberty, since a picture of her with her flowing is one of sides of the coin.
The coin and an original print of the Declaration of Independence  are now  both on display at  the Historical Museum in Oslo until Sunday. The declaration is “only” worth 35 million kroner, according to Samlerhuset, who is behind the exhibition.
