Five Norwegian educational institutions on prestigious international list

Norwegian University of Life Sciences at Ås is a newcomer on the list of the 980 best universities of the world.

The University of Oslo is the highest placed of the Norwegian universities, on 132. place on the ranking  Times Higher Education. That’s three places higher than last year.

University of Bergen is the next Norwegian institution on the list, but has dropped from 182. place last year to the layer of 201-250 year. NTNU in Trondheim is located in the layer of 251-300, which is a far better than last year’s 351 to 400 category, where NMBU way is placed find now.

At the bottom of the list of the five Norwegian are the University of Tromso, which has falling from the category 351-400 to 401-500.

Oxford on top

Venerable Oxford is at the top of this year’s list ahead, of California Institute of Technology. This means that the two institutions have switched  places from last year’s ranking.

Next up on the ranking are Stanford, Cambridge, MIT, Harvard, Princeton and Imperial College London , before ETH Zurich breaks the Anglo-American dominance in ninth place.

Out of the 25 leading universities in the world,only three  are not in the UK or US, according to the ranking. The two universities, apart from the Swiss institution which are not from those countries, are the University of Toronto and the National University of Singapore, which are located on the 22nd and 24th place of the list, respectively.
