Most of the course accredits up to four to six hours a week, as completed Norwegian tuition, even if the participants are active online for more than that. This is because it is difficult for net teachers to offer more hours than this in personal guidance to each participant. The participants are, furthermore, often at work or have other obligations.

Public course providers
The University of Oslo offers a four-week course in basic Norwegian online. This is provided in the form of a “Massive Open Online Course” (MOOC). In addition to online course material, practice is also offered by means of a chatbot. The course is free of charge, but if you want certification, you will have to pay a fee
Municipal course providers
Bærum adult education centre offers online Norwegian Language Courses at all levels up to and including level 2 of the Bergen test (B2). They offer 20 hours a month of teacher follow-up. There are gatherings at startup and once a month.
EVO offers online Norwegian Language Courses from A1 to B1 level to participants from Trondheim and other municipalities in the region. The participants use “My Way” and are followed up personally by a teacher.
Gjøvik Learning Centre offers pure net based courses at levels A1, A2 and B1: Migranorsk – normal progression (minimum 5 hours per week), and Migranorsk – rapid progression (minimum 15 hours per week). Gjøvik also offers self-produced online courses at level B2. Participants receive individual supervision both written and orally.
Johannes Learning Centre in Stavanger has been running net-based Norwegian Language Courses for many years. It has collaborated with Competence Norway on developing good models for online Norwegian Language Courses. They offer courses with personal guidance to participants across Norway.
Kongsgård School Centre offers online Norwegian Language Courses from level A1 to B2 to participants from Kristiansand and, if slots available, other municipalities. Participants take a placement test online before starting. The participants use “My Way” and are followed up personally by a teacher.
The Norwegian Language school at Larvik Learning Centre offers online courses in Norwegian. It is possible for new entrants to start at the beginning of each month. The course is based on individual work with supervision from a teacher online.
The Gol Learning Centre offers online Norwegian Language Courses at a higher level, with voluntary gatherings every two weeks. The courses are an offer to participants from all the municipalities in Hallingdal. The courses are best suited for participants who have a high learning speed.
Nygård School in Bergen has also been running net based Norwegian Language Courses for many years. They collaborated with Competence Norway on developing good models for online Norwegian Language Courses. They offer courses with personal guidance to Bergen municipality and surrounding municipalities.
Oslo VO Helsfyr offers several types of online courses. Participants can choose whether they want to go to school and learn online, or whether they just want to learn Norwegian on the internet. Participants receive personal guidance from a teacher.
Oslo VO Rosenhof offers online courses for Norwegian Language tests – higher level (Bergenstest – level B2 / C1). The course aims to provide a thorough preparation in the five disciplines for the exam: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, grammar, record writing and style writing. A personal tutor follows the participant through the course.
Sandnes Learning Centre offers a pure net course, with a voluntary evening session a month, where the focus is on the oral. Individual supervision takes place via “My Way”, each participant is assigned a teacher who follows them up. Sandnes Learning Centre accepts participants from all over Norway.
The Adult Education offers online Norwegian Language Courses with personal guidance from teachers at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2. The courses can be followed as pure net courses – or combined with a daytime gathering at the school.
