The Norwegian Business School offers scholarships

The Norwegian Business School (BI) is one of the private universities of Norway. Norwegian private universities usually have tuition fee for all students, as opposed to Norwegian public universities, who do not have tuition fees.

The Norwegian Business School (BI) Master of Science International Scholarship

The Norwegian Business School offers some scholarships to students, including for foreigners. One of the scholarships offered by the university is the Master of Science International Scholarship.

The primary pre-condition to be eligible for this scholarship is admission to the University for the Master of Science study. In order to get a scholarship, documents and grades, language proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL), GRE/GMAT and should be higher than the minimum admission requirements.

In order to apply for this scholarship, you need to write a scholarship application letter explaining why you wish to apply for the scholarship. Then you need to fill in the application form.

The application deadline is 1 March for this scholarship. It can cover part of the full tuition fee for the first year, and if the students achieve the progression requirement, it can cover partial or full tuition fee for up to 2 years.

Some of these scholarships also include a monthly stipend for the first semester in order to help with living expenses.

You need to pass 30 ETCS per semester for academic progression (One academic year liaises 60 ECTS credits that are normally tantamount to 1500–1800 hours of total workload) and your overall GPA must be at least B (A = Excellent, B = Very good, C = Good / Satisfactory, E = Sufficient, F = Fail). If you are awarded more than one scholarship, BI will only grant one of them.

Suggested results needed to obtain a BI scholarship

  • In order to obtain entry scholarships, your overall GPA should be above the required B. I recommend you to do even better in language proficiency.
  • Your IELTS to be above 7 (None of the skills less than 6.5) or a TOEFL IBT None of the skills less than 22) above 90.
  • GRE total score should be above 300. However, Analytical writing should above 3 and the quantitative and verbal section should be above 150.
  • If you are going to achieve GMAT, your overall score should be above 700, your Analytical Writing Assessment should be above 4, Verbal above 48 and Quantitative section above 50.

The scholarships are very competitive and students need to make a real effort to obtain one. The above scores are only guidelines. They are not guaranteed to be sufficient to actually obtaining one.
