The country with the largest number of applications is still Poland, with a total of 1255 applications for the approval of education. On the next places are Lithuania, Serbia and the Philippines.
– NOKUT experiencing a large increase in the number of applications for the approval of education and studies received in countries outside of Norway. We want to help those applicants to put their expertise to use in the Norwegian labor market. It is therefore gratifying that more and more are seeking approval of their education, says NOKUT director Terje Morland.
Syria was the country with the fifth largest number of applications in 2015, with a significant increase each quarter.
NOKUT states that they make continuous assessments of the confidence in the Syrian educational documents, and until now the confidence has been rated as adequate, so that most of the applications have been processed through the normal document based procedures.
NOKUT also experienced a growth in applications from other refugee countries like Eritrea, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran.
Morland expects that the increase in the number of applicants will continue in 2016, which means that the processing time will also increase. Last year it was at six weeks on average.
