While people in the south and east shivered in freezing temperatures, it was almost summer in parts of Møre and Romsdal on Monday morning.

At 00.06, the thermometer displayed close to 16 degrees in several places in the north-west. According to ‘Yrs’ temperature overview, it was 15.7 degrees in Rekdal, and 15 degrees in Alesund.

At the measuring station in Brusdalsvatnet, the mercury had soared to 14.6 degrees.

Both north and south of Møre and Romsdal, temperatures were up to ten degrees on Monday morning.

However, in Østafjells, and in the mountains in the south, temperatures were more usual, from around zero, down to minus 10.

The high temperatures in Møre and Romsdal appear to be fleeting. Already by Tuesday, the thermometer will drop to around 5 or 6 degrees.

There will still be a few higher temperatures through the Christmas holidays, which are not entirely uncommon.
