The Queen has awarded the school prize

The Apalløkka school in Oslo has been honored with Queen Sonja’s school prize 2018.

 

The award is awarded annually to schools that have exceled by practicing equality and inclusion, according to kongehuset.no.

Apalløkka school is located in Ammerud in Oslo. It has a total of 392 students, many of them originating from different parts of the world. The jury emphasizes the school’s use of the local community and Grorud district in a thoughtful and comprehensive manner.

“We are proud, humble and are honored to have receive this award,” writes the school on their web pages.

Apalløkka School receives 250,000 kroner, as well as an artwork the Queen has created. Queen Sonja is the initiator of the award and she shared on Monday, for the 13th time, the award.
