This year’s graduates have an average of 0.4 school points more than last year’s graduates, show the Education Directorate grade statistics for primary schools.

An increase of 0.4 school points corresponds to an increase in grade average from 4.08 to 4.12. The reason is that the grade increase in several exiting- and exam grades increased slightly, said the Education Directorate.

The girls who went out of primary school in the spring of 2016, scored on average 4.4 school points more than boys. It’s the same difference as last year.

Finnmark had the largest increase, of 0.9 school points.
For each individual subject, it is the average grade in mathematics that has changed the most from last year, from 2.9 to 3.3.

Primary score is an overall measure of students’ grades in subjects at the end of 10th grade. School points are not calculated for students who lack grades in more than half of the subjects.
