One in five guide-dog owners say that their dog has been attacked according to a new survey. The blind association (Blindeforbundet) have asked dog owners to take better control.

The survey was carried out on behalf of Nav reported NRK.

Sverre Fuglerud of the Blindforbundet said one in five is a lot and that this is serious.

‘’Our strong call to dog owners is that one must keep control of their dog and of course prevent it from attacking a guide dog” said Fuglerud, who is section leader for information and social contact in the organization.

“If you have a dog, do not let it greet the guide dog” Fuglerud pointed out.

‘’It is also important that you do not let your dog greet a guide dog wearing a brace. Then the guide dog is at work and it is very disturbed by dogs coming to greet it.
