In a survey  44 percent say they follow the government’s advice on exercising at least half an hour each day. The Health Directorate do not think this  is true.

– I do not believe the results are correct, Director Jacob Linhave Directorate of the Health Directorate  says to P4.
According to a new survey by Sentio Research  almost half of  the respondents replied that they follow the  advice on getting enough exercise.

The Directorate has made its own surveys in which people in addition to being asked about how much they exercise, are measured with activity meters.
The results show that people say they are more active than they actually are.

– Maybe it’s hard to remember how many minutes you have been physically active. Maybe people want to present a good image of themselves to the outside world and brag that they excercise a little more than they actually do,  Linhave says.
According to the Directorate of Health’s own figures, only 32 percent of the population excercise at least 30 minutes a day.

The result of the new survey shows that the most active population are located in the southernmost part of Norway and Telemark. Where answer one of two that they follow government advice. The part of Norway with the least active population, according to the survey, is northern Norway, where only 38 percent say the same.
Directorate of Health warns against an increasingly sedentary lifestyle. Because of this they have run the campaign “Your 30” in recent years,   to get Norwegians to become more physically active.
