NOK 24 million for breast cancer research

Nine out of ten survive breast cancer, but many suffer from late lesions.Now,five researchers have received a total of NOK 24 million to research the subject.

 

The money was collected during the ‘Rosa’ Ribbon (Pink Ribbon) Action in 2017, where the theme was “late lesions after breast cancer”.

“Research on late injuries after breast cancer treatment is crucial to improving the everyday lives of those affected, and not least for fewer to get late lesions in the future,” said Ellen Harris Utne, chairperson of the Breast Cancer Association, Ellen Harris Utne.

The research projects receiving support were announced on Thursday.The researchers who will receive funds are Giske Ursin, Peter Fedorcsak, Kristin Reinertsen, Anders Tveita, and Inger Thune.

The Pink Ribbon Action in Norway is a collaboration between the Cancer Society and the Breast Cancer Association.The money goes to research, and since 1999,

220 million kroner has been distributed.
