Nav has received notifications of layoffs and dismissals totaling 4,900 people in October. More than 40 percent of the alerts have come from Rogaland.
Of the 4,900 reports 3000 were layoff notifications. Of the first ten months, it is only in September, that the number of layoff notifications have been higher.
– Layoff forecasts have remained at a high level in October.
Part of this is probably due to the strike in the oil industry, which lasted until October, but also due to reduced activity in oil-related activities, says Nav director Sigrun Vågeng.
The number of notices of termination will remain lower than last year.
Most alerts came from Rogaland, with 2,100.
Only companies that are planning to terminate or lay off a minimum of ten employees must notify Nav. Nor is it all alerts that actually results in layoffs or dismissals.
