Telenor will cut costs for half a billion NOK within its staff group, which can mean that just under a hundred people can become redundant.

According to Dagens Næringsliv, Telenor chief Sigve Brekke informed employees at a general meeting at Fornebu on Tuesday that the cost of the staff under him should be reduced by 25 per cent by 2020.

“We had meetings with central staff today at Fornebu. This does not apply to Telenor Norway, only the key staff at the head office. What we talked about is part of a process that we started already in early March,” says Telenor’s HR manager Cecilie B. Heuch to the newspaper.

She states that fewer than one hundred people will be superfluous. Today, around 650 people work in the corporate staff department.
