Cauliflower shortage in Norway and Europe

Cauliflower prices shoot up after a very dry summer which has led to a lack of cauliflower, both in Norway and Europe.

“There is too little cauliflower in the market, both domestic and in the rest of Europe. The price of cauliflower will rise higher next week due to the low supply,” the Agriculture Directorate states.

There is also high demand for cucumber, where market prices are expected to increase, as well.

The reason for the fruit and vegetable volume is the extremely dry summer.

“There is enormous waste due to the drought,” said Morten Andersen in the Green Producers’ Cooperation Council for the Financial Report earlier this month.
