Eco crime division draws the Transocean case

After eleven years and a lost round in court, Eco crime has decided to withdraw  the Transocean case. Acquittals in the tax case are thus enforceable.
– The nightmare of my client’s life is over. He is deeply affected by this, but fundamentally happy, says lawyer Berit Reiss-Andersen, lawyer and defender of Klaus Klausen, tax consultant at Ernst & Young to the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.
He has for eleven years been indicted and later charged with aggravated tax evasion in connection with sales of drilling rigs. When the case went to Oslo District Court he faced any criminal allegation of four years in prison.
Klause and two other advisers, in addition to Transocean itself and Arcade Drilling, were all acquitted in the District Court in  the summer of 2014. The appeal was supposed to be held in the Court of Appeal after the New year.
