On Palm Sunday both BergensAvisen and Bergens Tidende published their last Sunday editions. This means there are only two Sunday newspapers left in Norway.
Dagbladet was the first Norwegian newspaper  among the major Norwegian newspapers to make a Sunday edition, and caught their competitors by surprise when they published their first Sunday edition one in August, 1990. One week later VG  and BergensAvisen did the same. Vehement negotiations were made in order to get journalists and typographers to agree to print newspapers seven days a week, and newspaper delivery and distribution had to be made ready in just a few days, the Bergen newspaper.
The other newspaper in Bergen, Bergens Tidende, started making their Sunday Newspaper much later, and published their first Sunday edition in 1996. But now, 20 years after BT started making newspapers all week, it’s the end of the Sunday editions in Bergen.
Other Sunday newspapers have come and gone, but after this weekend Aftenposten and VG will be the only ones left . The latter even placed a full page ad in the last Sunday edition of Bergens Tidende to remind people living in Bergen that it is still possible to buy new newspapers seven days a week in the future.
