The EU Commission has given its support to the so-called Baltic Pipe, a new gas pipeline from Norway to Denmark and Poland.

The EU Commission’s blessing involves EUR 214.9 million in support for the gas pipeline project, which is a collaboration between the Polish Gaz-System and the Danish Energinet.

From 2022, Baltic Pipe will transport Norwegian gas from the North Sea through Denmark and to Poland and other countries in Eastern and Central Europe. The gas pipeline will be connected to the Norwegian gas pipeline Europipe II.

Energy Union Vice-President Maros Sefcovic and EU climate manager Miguel Arias Cañete will oversee the signing of the EU aid agreement on Monday, together with Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
