– Insider threat is a major problem in Norway. We see that many companies spend a lot of resources to ensure the company against external threats, but have little commitment to protecting against internal threats, says Ronald Baro, who is security adviser in the company Falck Nutec to the web paper E24.
Threats from within involve everything from CV-cheating and theft to leaking of information and espionage.
According to the confederation, Virke the actual figures for the retail commerce that Norwegian insiders are stealing for are NOK 1.2 billion each year. Only in December 2015, employees have stolen 200 million in own stores. This accounted for 28 percent of the total shrinkage from stores.
