Four large cities got millions for urban development

Government provides over 13 million NOK for urban development in Stavanger, Trondheim, Oslo and Bergen.

Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development says in a statement that Bergen gets 2.2 million NOK, Stavanger 2.5 million NOK, while Oslo and Trondheim are respectively 5.5 and 2.8 million NOK to work with urban development.

In Bergen the money will be dedicated to three projects, where new housing development along the railway is a high priority.

Stavanger get money to spend on two projects, which entail them working to achieve a good interaction between urban development and improvement of living conditions in the area Hillevåg.

In Oslo, the money will go to four projects, where one main project follows up the regional plan for coordinated housing, land use and transport planning with Akershus county.

Trondheim get 2, 850 million to “Trondheim Bylab.”

– I am glad that towns can now try out new smart solutions, methods and forms of cooperation.

The cities learn from each other and we get a more effective and comprehensive urban planning, says Local Government and Modernization Minister Jan Tore Sanner.
