Fewer will get the right to work assessment allowance if the government gets its way. And those who receive it will receive it for a shorter period than today.

– The government proposes to narrow the group who can get work assessment allowance and to restrict how long you can receive the allowance for. At the same time users will get closer monitoring whilst receiving work assessment allowance (AAP), says Labour and Social Affairs minister Anniken Hauglie  in a statement.

The proposal from the government also states that an illness must be the cause of reduced work capacity. The Government believes that the period of AAP should be extended whilst the receiver searches work from three to up to six months. The period the receiver can work should also be extended by up to 80 percent from six to twelve months, according to the government.
