Industrial production increased last month

Industrial production in Norway increased from September to October, but during the last three-month period there has been a decrease.

Industrial production was 3.2 percent lower during the period from August to October this year, compared with the three-month prior period, according to Central Statistics Norway.

However, from September to October, there was a 0.2 percent increase.

The petroleum-related supply industry has been influenced by low activity and layoffs.

The largest decline was in ship building and oil platforms, where the decrease in production is 12 percent.

There was also a sharp decline in businesses such as machine, computer, and electrical equipment industries, and machine repair and installation.

However, if we look at just the monthly figures from September to October, there was an increase in ship building and oil platform by 5.7 percent.
