Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has sent his shadow minister for Brexit to Norway to get good advice on relations with the EU.

– We are completely in the dark over what will happen next after the majority of the people voted for Brexit. I am here to learn from Norway’s experience in negotiating with the EU and how it is to stand outside, says Emily Thornberry to news agency NTB.

Thornberry is responsible for foreign policy, and thus also Brexit,  and Jeremy Corbyn will shadow government activities.

Labour was for Britain to remain in the EU, but when people said no, we must now concentrate on getting the best possible deal, stressed Thornberry.

She is in Norway as Labour’s guest and will be in meetings Thursday with, among others, foreign politicians, among them head of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence Anniken Huitfeldt, Party Secretary Kjersti Stenseng and representatives of Trade Unions.
