190 employees will lose their jobs from January when Petter Stordalen is to start the work of altering Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania to   the largest hotel in Norway.

– It is regrettable that so many will lose their jobs, but it is not possible to lay off people for more than two years, which is  the time is likely to take to finish altering the hotel,  Stordalen says to VG. He said the company will establish a recruitment and consulting office together with Nav.

Steward Tore Gjøs at Royal Christiania says that times are tough right now. He said that the employees were hoping for new jobs in other Clarion hotels.
– We organize around 80 employees. I think it’s about 190 employees and part-time workers who will lose their jobs from January.
